The Creation Bible Story for Kids (Genesis 1–2)

The Creation Bible story is the first and one of the most beautiful stories in the Bible. It tells how God made the whole world, one day at a time. It’s like watching an artist paint the greatest masterpiece ever — but instead of using brushes, God simply spoke, and his words came to life.
Day One: Light Breaks Through the Darkness
Gen1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” God began by creating the heavens and the earth. Everything was quiet. Everything was dark. The earth had no form. Then God’s voice filled the emptiness: Gen 3:3“…Let there be light!”
In a moment, light came into being, shining bright and warm. God was happy with the light, and He then separated it from the darkness. God called the light day and the darkness night. That is how night and day came into existence.
Day Two: The Sky Above Us
God spoke again and caused the sky to come into existence. The sky separated the waters above from the waters below. That is the sky that you see when you look up. That is what God did on that two.
Day Three: Land and Plants Appear

God spoke, and this time he made the waters below the sky gather in one place. That water that gathered, God called the “seas”. This is the water on the earth. Then God, through His words, again created the fruit trees and every other kind of tree. He also created every kind of plant. He created all the plants and trees to bring forth seeds.
Day Four: The Sun, Moon, and Stars
God created the sun, the moon, and the stars. They separate the day from the night. When there is no sunlight on the earth, it is night, and you can see the moon and the stars. During the day, you can see the sun. These lights act as signs, they separate times and seasons, even years. The greater light is the sun, and it rules the day, the lesser light is the moon, and it rules the night.
Day Five: Birds and Fish Fill the World
Gen 1; 20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” When God said that, the lakes, rivers, and oceans were all filled with many types of fish and water creatures. On this same day, He also created many types of birds, they were flying in the skies, over the trees, and over land. God commanded the birds and the fish to multiply and become many.
Day Six: Animals and People
God created the animals, like the dogs, cats, lions, sheep, etc. He also created everything that crawls on the ground, like the insects.

Gen 1: 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Then came God’s most special creation: human beings. He created them male and female. God made Adam and Eve in His own image. God placed them in His beautiful garden called Eden and asked them to care for His creation. He gave human beings power and authority to rule over everything He had created. He gave the plants and fruits of trees to man to eat. To the animals, He gave the plants to eat
Day Seven: A Day of Rest
On the seventh day, God looked at everything He had made — and it was very good. He blessed this day and made it holy, setting an example for us to rest, enjoy, and worship Him.
